In vista della Coppa del Mondo, il TX Active-Bianchi ha avuto un test comunque utile a Lugagnano (Piacenza), nella "Valdarda Bike – Trofeo Antonio Tedaldi alla Memoria", valida come quarta prova degli Internazionali d'Italia MTB, corsa domenica 15 maggio. La squadra di Felice Gimondi ha conquistato un sesto posto con Tony Longo, un settimo con Gerhard Kerschbaumer e un ottavo con Stephane Tempier, a lungo in zona-podio. Più indietro Cristian Cominelli. Kerschbaumer è stato il migliore fra gli Under 23 e si conferma leader della categoria negli Internazionali d'Italia MTB.

La gara è tuttavia stata fortemente condizionata dalle piogge della mattinata, che hanno reso pesante il percorso e suggerito a Tempier e compagni di evitare rischi inutili in vista delle prossime due prove della World Cup, previste sabato 21 e domenica 22 maggio nella foresta di Dalby, in Gran Bretagna, e nel fine settimana successivo a Offenburg, in Germania.

Sempre domenica 15, nella Coppa di Portogallo a Seia, l'Under 23 Ricardo Marinheiro ha centrato un sesto posto assoluto e un primo di categoria.

Shining Kerschbaumber in Lugagnano’s mud, Marinheiro won in Portugal

TX Active-Bianchi's main goal of the weekend was to test riders' shape toward World Cup stage 2 and 3, but "Valdarda Bike – Trofeo Antonio Tedaldi alla Memoria", Internazionali d'Italia MTB's stage4, run in Lugagnano (Norhern Italy) on Sunday, May 15th, hasn't been the best warm-up. Felice Gimondi's team achieved a sixth place with Tony Longo, a seventh with Gerard Kerschbaumer and a eighth with Stephane Tempier, for long time on the virtual podium. Kerschaumer was the best in U23 series and confirmed his leadership in the Internazionali d'Italia MTB ranking.

Unfortunately the race was strongly conditional on morning rain, which made heavier the track leading Tempier and his team-mates to avoid pointless risks with a view on next two World Cup stages, scheduled on Saturday-Sunday, May 21st-22nd in Dalby Forest (Yorkshire, GBR) and in Offenburg (Germany) weekend after.

On Sunday, May 15th, Ricardo Marinheiro took 1st in U23 series and sixth overall at Portugal Cup, in Seia.
